The Valentin Imperial Maya resort is located 25 minutes south of the Cancun airport. The resort has 540 rooms and is adults only. The resort opened in December of 2007, and has received the AAA 4 Diamond award. The resort is on a very nice stretch of beach and they have a large pool with swim up pool bar. The resort has 7 restaurants (Italian, French, Japanese ‘teppanaki’, Mexican, Steak, Lobster, and International). Reservations are accepted for “Privlidged” guests ($100 per night upgrade), but there has never been a complaint about long wait times at the restaurants. The resort serves top shelf liquor (including Crown Royal), along with Mexican beers (XX Equis, Tecate, and Superior) and Coors Light! The resort is very spacious, and the cigar and sports bar provides the main nightlife. All of the rooms are junior suites and there are 5 different room categories. The basic room is a Jr. suite and measures at 516 square feet. The Silver Jr. suite is the same size with a king bed and Jacuzzi. The Golden Jr. suite is 656 square feet and has a Jacuzzi and a plasma television. The Golden Jr. suite swim up is on the first floor with pool access (a 10 feet walk from patio to the pool). The Emerald Jr. Suite is 624 square feet and is located closest to the beach. Due to the growth of palm trees and lush foliage, no room at the Valentin has a true ocean view. The resort has a small gym and an 8 treatment room spa.
Overall, I liked the resort a lot and this is one of our more popular resorts in the Riviera Maya. The rooms are nice, the beach is nice, they have a great pool and the resort typically prices as the least expensive of the adult only all- inclusive resorts. This would be great for honeymooners on a budget (both finance and time).
