Before discussing this resort specifically, let’s clarify what it means to be Gourmet Inclusive. All Eldorado and Azul Resorts (Karisma) are considered Gourmet Inclusive. In a very crowded all inclusive market, this is how Karisma Resorts try to stand out. The food is fantastic and foodies of all stripes will enjoy the fresh cuisine. There are no buffets (there is a grab and go buffet for breakfast for guests with an early tee time or tour), there are no dinner reservations or restrictions, and Karisma owns its own vineyard and all of their resorts serve 10 different house wines (typical all-inclusive resorts have 2-4 wines on the complimentary house wine list). In addition, there is a 100,000 square foot greenhouse (tours are available 3 times per week) where fruits, vegetables, and flowers are grown. 24 hour full menu room service and a fully stocked bar are included at all Karisma properties. Cooking classes and cooking demos are scheduled throughout the week. All Karisma resorts are fantastic choices for destination weddings and they even offer a 3 night Brides Dress Rehearsal for $399. This is offered once per month and allows prospective couples the opportunity to see their resort, meet with the wedding coordinator, make wedding selections, and more. Please make sure to ask your First Discount Travel consultant about complimentary upgrades, complimentary upgraded honeymoon packages, and other perks we offer due to our partnership with Karisma.
As for the Eldorado Royale, it is located 30 minutes from the Cancun Airport and shares a mile and a half beach with its sister property the Eldorado Casitas Royale. Guests from either resort have full exchange privileges accept the beach beds are reserved for Casita guests. The Eldorado Royale is very spread out and there are about a dozen suites per building. There are at least seven different room categories all offering double Jacuzzi, 24 hour full menu room service, and a fully stocked bar. The Premium rooms offer ocean front views and have recently been renovated. My favorite room category is the Premium Swim Up Suites. Currently, all of the suites are getting refreshed (refurbished) and this project will be completed by the middle of 2014. The resorts share 8 full service restaurants and several grills. My favorite restaurant is Fuentes Culinary Theater where you watch the chef prepare your meal of big screen televisions. There are several bars including the popular swing bar and several swim up pool bars. The beach is very long and there are rocks close to the lobby. Currently, there are large sand bags out in the water to protect the beach from erosion. I’ve been told they are removing these “eyesores” but nothing has been done as of September 2013. The ocean is a lovely shade of turquois and I look forward to seeing it without sandbags. There are several gorgeous secluded venues for destination weddings including chapels, gazebos, and piers. On the beach, there are chic day beds and cabanas. The beds on the casita side are reserved for Casita guests and beach and pool service is provided by the resort’s butlers. The Eldorado Royale has a social, fun atmosphere with music and an activity staff.
Overall, I really like the Eldorado Royale. The food and service is amazing, the rooms are all unique, and there is a social, high energy crowd. The number and variety of destination wedding locations are very impressive!
