Couples Tower Isle (formerly Couples Ocho Rios) is an iconic resort located in the Jamaican tourist center of Ocho Rios. Built in the 1950’s, Couples Tower Isle was shut down and completely renovated in 2009. The rooms are nice but not overly impressive. I was very impressed on the deluxe ocean view rooms which are steps away from the surf. As a member of Couples, the resort offers gourmet dining, premium brand liquor, scuba, snorkeling, golf, shopping day trips, free weddings, room service (6AM to 11PM), complimentary WIFI and more. The resort has 208 rooms and is going for a chic South Beach feel. The resort has a full activity schedule, but the resort is pretty quiet in the evenings (with the large exception of the piano bar which was super loud during my stay). The beach is coved shaped but very nice. Tower Isle has a bar and lounging area and is popular for guests looking to participate in “European” sunbathing. The resort has 5 restaurants and no dining restrictions. Honeymoon couples receive a complimentary 30 minute couples massage.
Couples Tower Isle was considerably more active and not as spread out as Couples san Souci. I was shocked by how social and active the resort was. The service was super friendly but not super- fast. Bartenders and waiters were calling guests by their first name and smiling and shaking hands. This is a great resort for a honeymoon or anniversary, but also for guest looking to make friends with the staff and be active.
