Dreams has 308 suites and is located in the center of the Corridor. The resort has two pool areas, both of which have a swim up pool bar. The main pool is the active pool, and the other pool is a quiet, relaxation pool area. This second pool recently changed to adult only. Dreams has a great walking beach, but no swimming allowed. Although Dreams has a great children’s program, the vast majority of guests were adults and what appeared to be honeymooners. Dreams offers free weddings for people staying 7 nights in a top room category. Dreams offers pool and beach waiter service. The beach chairs have deluxe cushions.
Dreams offer 5 restaurants of which 4 are a la carte. No reservations are accepted and cuisine choices are Asian, Oceania – Seafood, El Patio- Mexican, Portofino – Italian, and Buffet. Dreams Los Cabos offers all premium brands of alcohol, and American beer (Bud products). Dreams also offers Mexican beer like Pacifico, Modelo and Corona. The Bud products are in cans and bottles. The bars all serve top shelf liquor.
All of the rooms at Dreams are junior suites and include an ocean view. The junior suites are approximately 600 square feet and nicely decorated. All rooms have 24 hour room service and a fully stocked minibar. All honeymooners get flowers in the room, a bottle of Champagne, flower petals and candles, a romantic dinner in one of the restaurants and champagne breakfast in bed. At night, the resort exudes a romantic atmosphere with floating candles in the pool and tiki torches. The resort has a full service beauty parlor, spa, gym, and a wedding gazebo. Wireless access is available for
a charge. Dreams shows movies on the beach 3 times a week and football games when they’re in season. The resort has several bars with the lobby bar and Barracuds (a swing bar) being the most popular. The resort does have an Explorer club for kids open from 9AM to 10PM. In addition to the normal amenities, the Explorers club has a bungee trampoline, and inflatable toys for the pool. Overall, Dreams seems to be a nicer resort than the Riu. Dreams has 308 rooms vs. 642 for the Riu and the same number of restaurants. The Riu does have a better location in Cabo san Lucas and the benefit of being on a swimmable beach.
