Agent Comments

The Moon Palace is a gigantic complex located 10 minutes from the Cancun Airport.  It is truly a self-contained resort and many guests don’t leave the property.  As of August 2013, there are over 2500 rooms and more are under construction.  The resort is divided into three sections each with its own lobby.  There are 40 passenger coaches that transfer guests between lobbies if they don’t want to walk.  The Sunrise section just completed a huge renovation in 2013 and all of the rooms and facilities look fantastic.  As of April 2013, the Nizuc section was looking a little dated; however, it is scheduled for the same renovation later in 2013.  The Grand Section is the newest and all of the rooms are larger than the other sections.  There are 72 rooms at the onsite Jack Nicklaus designed golf course.  Each section has its own pool, kid’s club, and theater.  Of the 13 restaurants, only the Italian at the Golf Villas accepts reservations.  The Japanese teppanki restaurant is very popular and has 8 tables for the food show.  Unlike most all- inclusive resorts, the Moon Palace has great nightlife and the Noir nightclub is designed to resemble a hot club in Miami or Las Vegas.  The Teen club is enormous with dozens of free video games, dessert bar, lounge, and more.

The resort also offers complimentary phone calls to the United States and a resort credit ($750 for 3 nights, $1500 for 7 nights). The resort credit can be used for golf, tours, swim with the dolphins, upgraded wine, and a limited amount in the spa.  There is a Mexican government tax of 11% on all services used with the resort credit.  The swim with the dolphins excursion is done on site as dolphins live at the Moon Palace.  The Moon Palace has an endless number of swimming pools and a new Flow Rider Surf simulator.    The beach at the Moon Palace is very long and great for lying out and walking.  However, the water is a dark green almost brown shade and most people don’t get in.

Overall, the Moon Palace is a great resort with something to appeal to everyone.  The Moon Palace definitely is for active people both onsite as well as with the resort credit.
